The “Pick Now” Approach

From Vision to Execution

For years, I’ve helped leaders envision extraordinary futures—commitments to outcomes that didn’t yet exist and might not even seem possible from their current perspective. The Creating Extraordinary Futures framework enables people to see beyond their limitations and step into bigger goals than they would otherwise take on.

But here’s what I discovered: You can’t create something extraordinary if you can’t execute on the ordinary decisions that get you there.

“Pick Now” is the prerequisite to Creating Extraordinary Futures.

In order to build something amazing, you have to be able and willing to execute, day after day after day. You have to make the small decisions quickly so you can focus on the big vision clearly. You have to trust your judgment on the tactical choices so you can pour your creative energy into the transformational ones.

Only when you develop this capacity for decisive action do you truly get a sense of what’s possible for you—and start acting on it with the speed and confidence extraordinary futures require.

What “Pick Now” Really Means

  • Pick Now isn’t about rushing. It’s about recognizing that most high-performers already know what they want. What looks like indecision is usually fear—of being wrong, judged, or out of control.
  • Pick Now isn’t about perfect decisions. It’s about making good decisions quickly and trusting your ability to adjust course as you learn more.
  • Pick Now isn’t about abandoning vision. It’s about understanding that extraordinary futures are created through a series of decisive actions, not through endless planning.

The moment you decide, all that tension disappears.

How It Works

Whether I’m coaching one-on-one, leading a group program, or facilitating a leadership intensive, the “Pick Now” approach helps leaders bridge the gap between knowing what they want and actually creating it.

1. Recognize What You Already Know

Most founders spend months analyzing decisions they could make in minutes. We help you see that you already have the information, instincts, and capability you need.

2. Identify Your Delay Patterns

Every leader has a default way of avoiding decisions. Some over-research. Some over-delegate. Some create impossible standards. Once you see your pattern, you can break it.

3. Build Your Decisiveness Muscle

Like any skill, the ability to choose quickly and confidently gets stronger with practice. We start with smaller decisions and work up to the big ones.

4. Separate Decision from Outcome

Good leaders make decisions based on the information available now, not on guarantees about the future. When you stop trying to control outcomes, decision-making becomes much simpler.

5. Take Action Before You’re Ready

Extraordinary futures aren’t created by people who wait until they’re ready. They’re created by people who act while they’re still figuring it out.

What My Clients Experience

Leaders who embrace the “Pick Now” approach become calm, confident, and unafraid to take bold action. They delegate effectively, challenge assumptions that have held them back, and create environments where their best people thrive.

They stop proving themselves to ghosts from their past and start building the businesses—and lives—they actually want.

They recognize that delay compounds stress, while action relieves it.

Most importantly, they discover that the extraordinary future they’ve been planning to create someday is available to them right now—if they’re willing to pick it.

The Philosophy Behind the Framework

My approach draws from years of studying with master coaches, spiritual teachers, and transformational leaders—Peter Fenner, Jack Pransky, Michael Neill, Steve Hardison, Mark Silver, Rich Litvin, Bebe Hansen, and the late Doug Silsbee, among others.

But here’s what I’ve learned: The most sophisticated frameworks and most powerful realizations are useless if you’re not willing to act on what you discover. That’s why “Pick Now” isn’t just a coaching methodology—it’s a recognition that we have access to infinite creative potential, but only when we stop waiting for permission and start taking action.

Are You Ready?

The extraordinary future you’ve been envisioning is waiting for you to decide.

Not when you have all the answers. Not when the risk is eliminated. Not when the stars align.

Now.

Because every day you delay is another day that future remains just a vision instead of becoming your reality.
