The most powerful work that I have done, with myself and others, is inner work.

Looking at how we are creating our world, moment by moment.

Looking at how we can never experience the outside world directly. We can only experience our thinking, and our thinking is constantly changing.

Seeing that behind the cacophony of those thoughts, those voices, those judgments, there is a quieter knowing that is constantly guiding us.

Surrendering to that and seeing where it takes us.

Creating from a place of knowing that we are already enough.

Creating knowing we are already everything and always have been.

It’s easy to think that you are not making a decision. But every day you choose to continue in the job you are in, in the business you are pursuing.

Does that thought make you feel alive, or like you are slowly dying?

The first step to making a change is the most important one, and the hardest.

Stop thinking things are ok. Stop thinking things are good enough. Stop thinking things will change.

“Things” cannot do that.

Only you can. And you can choose differently.

What are you choosing to create? Is it bringing you alive? Or is it “good enough for now?”

Good enough is never good enough. Good enough is the path to regret.

The curse of being a coach is that you see what is actually possible for people.

The things that people don’t see for themselves.

The things that people REFUSE to see for themselves.

I’ve asked myself why that is. Why people refuse to try. And the only conclusion that I have come to is that fear, now, is more difficult than regret later.

The regret will come. On some level, we all know it. We’ve felt it. The times that we didn’t play all out. That we could have done just a little better and it would have made a huge difference.

We told ourselves at the time that the effort wasn’t worth it, or that we really weren’t good enough. That we were certain that we would try and fail. Because sometimes we have, and it hurts.

So we tell ourselves that things are “really good” right now, in that high pitched voice that isn’t really convincing anyone.

If you see a ceiling, that’s you creating it. Saving yourself the disappointment of trying and failing.

What if you really committed to something bigger? What would that success mean to you? To your sense of fulfillment and meaning and purpose? To the family who sees you at your very best instead of the malaise you keep saying is “really good?”

Sometimes it just takes a person or two in your corner, an encouraging word at the right time, to change everything.

I see so many people that think they need more knowledge to get a better job.

But knowledge, the thought that you have to say the right thing, is the connection killer.

What you need is more presence, and I can help you find it. That “it factor” will have employers competing over you. It will have you knowing you have no limits.

You know you have seen it in others. But you can have it, too.

It’s this same “it factor” that has enabled me to build an elite one-on-one coaching practice with senior leaders when I’ve never been above a VP.

It’s simple, but not necessarily easy.

When you do this work, when you look in this direction, you will have a much better idea of what you want to do next, and if you are like most people, you have been thinking way too small.

But you don’t have to commit to changing jobs.
